California Profile AP1200 2 Channel Amplifier

Product Overview
The California Profile AP1200 2 Channel Amplifier features 2 bridgeable channels that push 200 watts at 4 ohms, 300 watts at 2 ohms or 600 watts at 4 ohms bridged. This amplifier is made with your budget in mind. They are not very expensive, but are very versatile. It has a Low Pass, Full Range, and High Pass Crossover so you can use this amplifier to push your subs, mids, or highs. It has three 25 ampere fuses. It has a variable bass boost at 45 hz.

Price
I have seen this amplifier for sale for $230. I have seen it for less from local shops for around $160.

My Personal Opinion
I used this amplifier to push two 12" Kenwood subwoofers. I bought the amp and subs as a combo on craigslist. I bought them because my Kenwood amplifier got wet in the back of my Jeep Wrangler. It was just for a temporary replacement. I liked the tone quality that came out of the amplifier, but I did not like the power it provided. I know what Bass Boost does and how it works and that it's not generally healthy to have it turned up while the gain is up as well, but that was the only way I could really get the volume that I wanted. I figured it was only temporary so if I burned the circuitry it didn't matter. Even with the boost up 1/4 of the way and the gain up 3/4's of the way, the amp played strong for a good 4 or 5 months before I got rid of it and bought my Kicker 2500.1. Over all I really liked the sound quality, but hated the lack of power it provided. It would be great if you just want a little bit of bass in your ride. Overall it was decent, but I would probably never buy another one unless I got one for a phenomal deal, though I really worked that amplifier hard and it never overheated or went into protection.
